Now that the chapter of Mom has closed, I'm anxious to see what happens next in my book of life. Feel free to come along as I start my new journey.

I'm an electrician! I have a nice 3-way lamp that I love and the switch stopped working. I wasn't ready to chunk it, so went to Home Depot and invested $5 in a new switch so I could change it myself. I found a YouTube video explaining how to do it and the first things I had to go back and get were a wire cutter and wire stripper. Imagine my delight when I found one tool that does both (first mistake). So I came home, for the second time, started the video and followed the directions, step by step. My first issue arose when I accidentally cut the wire when I should have been stripping it (second mistake due to first mistake). And then, when it came time to attach the different wires that looked exactly alike to the two different screws, the instructor stated, "I'll speed this up so you don't get bored and play some banjo music for you." Then it went into fast forward with both of his hands blocking what he was doing. Time to regroup. So I found another video that was much better and proceeded on. I really wasn't positive I had the hot wire curled around the hot screw and the neutral wire curled around the neutral screw, but I did. I was truly shocked (figuratively) when I screwed in a bulb, plugged it in, and turned it on. I'm a genius!
