We finally got out for a nice long walk this morning and discovered a lengthy path through the neighborhoods without any people (or dogs). It was so pleasant. Apparently other dogs had been there, however, because my two stopped to smell the grass approximately every two feet. I finally got exasperated and said out loud to them, "Come on, guys, please!" And then I thought that probably even the smartest dog wouldn't understand the concept of please. And I realized that I say that to them all the time, and of course, not in a stern voice. Could this possibly be the reason they're so ill-behaved? Methinks, yes.
