The dogs and I ventured into the subdivision across the way this evening, as we sometimes do, and the weather was just lovely. As we walked, we passed a large group of young children with some parents playing at the end of a cul-de-sac, an Asian man mowing his lawn, a father and son throwing a football, and some Indian women, who were out walking dressed in saris. I realized just then how much I missed this cultural diversity in Arkansas. Granted, there aren't many blacks or Hipanics in this neighborhood, and I wish there were, but it still makes me smile when I encounter these people in my daily activities. Reminds me of my teaching days at Lanier Middle School.
