Now that the chapter of Mom has closed, I'm anxious to see what happens next in my book of life. Feel free to come along as I start my new journey.

Upon re-reading yesterday's blog, it seemed I was awfully full of myself. And the obvious answer is that I was over-served. It's so easy to monitor my wine intake in a restaurant (3 glass maximum if I'm not driving), but when the bottles are on the table and being passed around, it's a totally different ball game. I had quite the headache when I woke up this morning, but was happy to learn that Ann Roe (that's her first name) did, too. She lives only one street over and was the griller as well as a serious kitchen helper (no one else was), so I especially liked her. I don't ever expect anyone to help when I'm hosting, but it is always appreciated. The Lyons girls wrote the book on taking over the kitchen and they're the best at it. Also, Ann Roe's husband was a professional football player who played for the Chiefs and the Bengals so that was another big plus in my book. Everyone sent emails today restating how much they enjoyed the group, so I now truly feel more at home. And that's a very good thing.
