Of course Simon wasn't limping this morning by the time we got to the vet (and only slightly before). But she x-rayed him anyway and said it's nothing major, but he has the onset of arthritis and I was offered several different medications which I turned down for now. So $500 later, for the week, there's been nothing really serious to show for all that expense. So when Glory started wheezing when I got back this morning, and hasn't stopped since, I told her that she just has to man up and  live with whatever it is. I'm now blaming all this trauma on the sudden onset of winter. I've tried not to complain because it's so much worse everywhere else in the country, but I swear that in the 30 years I lived here before I moved to Arkansas, it was never this cold any time of year. Of course, now that I'm elderly, I'm probably more sensitive to the cold (and I really think that's the case).

I also went to the school today to mentor and then later got measured for an orthotic for my shoe due to my ankle problems. The guy tried to sell me one for each foot just so I wouldn't be uneven, but I said no.

The best news of the day is that it all ended at the wine bar this evening with four of the women I really like. Just what I needed to close out a stressful day.
