I switched from State Farm to Allstate today and although it was a lengthy process, I feel like I'm back home. I started with Allstate because of Frank Wiggins and Sears (they owned Allstate at the time), but dated a State Farm agent way back in the 70's and switched then. I never had any complaints, but got a better rate by switching back so I feel my dad is smiling down on me.

Then this afternoon I finally met a girl to mentor at Krause House, a residential facility for teen-aged girls with various problems. Hope is 14 years old and is in foster care for unknown reasons, but based on what I learned today, was probably abused somehow. I'm so glad she's 14 because I know that age from teaching 8th grade. We will meet regularly on Saturday mornings and I can't wait to get started. I'm already looking forward to Saturday and will let you know how it goes. I started the application process last September and have faced obstacles all along the way. But all is settled now and I'm ready for the games to begin!
