So at the wine bar this evening I mentioned that I needed to get out of town for a couple of days. And within 15 minutes we all had a trip planned to Fredericksburg at the end of April. The other four had all been there and talked about the wineries and how much fun it would be. The only problem is that one of the women is the one that has offered to take care of Simon whenever I travel, which I think he would prefer to the families where they normally go. When I told her she can't go, she said that she'd be happy to take him any time, even if I'm home. That works for me because I really just want to know that he'll be fine if I leave for a longer trip because it would save me some money (and I really want her to go). So the trip is on. Can't wait!
