Our final day with the girls was a success. Staff members came, they put on their show, and all did a good job. Then we had a pizza party and the girls took turns singing. Most of them really had beautiful voices, so maybe next summer we'll do some kind of choir performance.

The clinical director came to talk to me during the afternoon and asked how I would feel about tutoring one girl in math. Are you kidding me? I told her this is right up my alley and I would almost rather tutor than try to engage a girl for an hour as a mentor. She was delighted, as was I, and I'll start next week.

I also got a call from the elementary school counselor asking me if I would mentor two kids this year. I jumped at it because this is the school that is less than five minutes from my house. I'm not going to do the outlying school again because I spent too much time in traffic, so everything is lining up for a great school year. Yay!!!
