Busy Saturday! I had to be downtown at the Juvenile Justice Center at 9 AM for my first orientation for mentoring an incarcerated juvenile delinquent. It was supposed to last until 11, but we were finished at 10. I was supposed to meet Roy at 11:30 for lunch, so went shopping in the Heights to kill time (and fortunately, didn't buy anything). Then Roy took me back downtown to see a loft he bought on Main Street to use as rental property. I was very impressed. Then back to the Heights for Mexican food.

This evening was bingo and my new neighbor, Hurma, went with me. Turns out, she's really not a drinker (she was just being polite at the pool when she drank the wine I offered), but she's fun and I'm really enjoying the social activities much more when she's with me. We decided to plan a block party for our street in the fall. She didn't really love playing bingo any more than I do, so we left at halftime, but enjoyed dinner and the socializing. Things are looking up... I needed a pal!
