I never saw the boob pillow again after this picture was taken, but he sure seemed to love it, didn't he? Dad was born 100 years ago today and he's the greatest man I've ever known and loved. After he died I went through his closet so Mom wouldn't have to and imagine my surprise when I found almost all the gifts I'd ever given him, still in the boxes. Yet I never knew he didn't like them (I did not give him the boob pillow nor the Razorback hat). However, I was responsible for the safari hat with a built in battery-operated fan because he didn't know when to come in out of the heat. I also gave him some putting green slippers and a phone with big numbers and pictures for each button. I carefully cut out photos of each family member, inserted them into each button, and programmed each one with the corresponding phone number (he said that was for old people and was probably in his early 80's when I gave it to him).

But he always seemed excited when he opened whatever the gift was and only once told me that was the stupidest thing he'd ever seen. Matters not, I loved him dearly and miss him so much.
I had lunch today with Kitty, Cathy, Sharon, Charles, and Kay. We celebrated his life and even shared a few Bloody Mary's (without Clamato juice). Happy Birthday, Dad!
