If yesterday was bad (and it was), today was 10 times worse! I foolishly assumed that once the gunky part was done, we could roam free. Au contraire, mes amis. Today there were three guys instead of one and they had Mexican music blaring from their little boom box. And there was lots of dust and such all over the place, so back to the study we went at 9:30 this morning. At 12:30 I went out and asked if they were going to lunch and was told yes, in about 20 minutes. After about 30, I couldn't see anyone and went out, but the music was still on. Turns out... they were gone. What???

I was going to find something for lunch in the fridge when I looked at the floor they'd already laid and I was certain that it wasn't the one I picked out. When they got back, I did mention that I wish someone had told me they were leaving, but hastily added that I thought the flooring they had was wrong. So we decided that they'd take a break while I ran to the store with one of the pieces to compare to the store sample. Imagine my surprise  (and embarrassment) when I saw they were identical. Oh well, at least I got to stop and pick up lunch, which I shared with the dogs, who seem to be handling this confinement much better than their mom. We finally escaped at 5:45.

  1. Some days are like that, and I'm sorry you had one. They do make you appreciate the good ones even more. Got a package in the mail yesterday that contained a letter Dad wrote with the three letters from the NAACP attorney in Alexandria. I had never seen them before and Karen and I both cried as we read them. Our staff thought someone had died, but we were just so proud. I hope Dad knows how proud of him I am.
