Home again, home again jiggety jig (that's what Mom used to say when we were kids). The trip was perfect. Great weather, good friends, and the best food I may have ever eaten. I did not take one bite of anything I didn't love, but my favorite was a slice of crabmeat cheesecake. I don't even know how to describe it, but it was spectacular! Dickie Brennan of Brennan's fame now has five restaurants in the quarter and we went to every one, but only ate at three of them (cocktails at the other two). There's always a next time.
The dogs also had a great time. And how do I know this? Because the sitter sent me 15 videos of them playing and sleeping (Simon slept on their bed, with Glory on the floor nearby). I'll have to tell her next time that one video/day is sufficient, but it was nice to see them having fun (the first three times).
And the best surprise of all... when I got home there was a notice on my door that the water company had been out and the leak was on my next-door-neighbor's property. The neighbor who told me about it on Friday called them early this morning and reported it. See... I said he was a nice man!
