I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon because I needed some prescriptions refilled and my previous doctor no longer comes to this location, so her replacement wanted to meet with me first. No big deal until the nurse asked me to step on the scale. Now, first of all, I had on jeans and heavy sandals with ankle brace, whereas last time I had on light capris, a tee shirt, and was able to remove my shoes. Needless to say, I was four or five pounds heavier than at the last visit, so I felt obligated to explain that I just got back from New Orleans yesterday (although I neglected to mention that I didn't get there until Saturday afternoon). The nurse just laughed and said she understood completely.  Now I have some work to do!
