Cathy's youngest daughter, Hannah, got married tonight. Sharon's daughter and son-in-law, who live in Katy, gave me a ride but because the wedding was at 6, they wanted to go out afterwards with some of their cousins. They asked me if I wanted to go with them, but of course I didn't, so decided to call Uber instead (there's an app for that). I explained to them in advance that I knew there was a possibility that I would want to come home before them, so it wasn't unexpected.
Tommy waited with me to approve my driver and we were both in agreement that he seemed fine, so off I went. Since I'd had a few glasses of wine I was quite chatty and learned a lot about Babar. He's Pakastini and his wife is from El Salvador. He came here with nothing at 24 and ended up owning a gas station where he met his wife. Ultimately he lost the gas station (the same as my previous driver) and is now working two jobs while his wife stays home to raise their two children, ages 9 and 11. Definitely a good man.
I was so impressed by him that I gave him $20 (you're not supposed to tip and he tried not to take it). About 15 min. later I discovered that I left my phone in his car. Stupid, stupid me! But I called and he turned around and came right back to bring it to me. A really good man.
So anyway... the wedding was beautiful and all's well that ends well.
