Confession time: It was a cold, rainy day today so I did what anyone with half a brain would do... binge watching! I started a documentary series several weeks ago called The Staircase Murders about the trial of an actual murder case in North Carolina. I got the second and final DVD of the series yesterday, and watched the last four episodes back to back this afternoon. It wasn't my plan, but I got hooked and had to see it through to the end. Fascinating, although I did not agree with the verdict. As with a recent attempted murder case here in Houston just recently, I believed that the suspect was guilty, but knew that the jury had to go with not guilty because the prosecution clearly did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. I love this stuff even though the juries were both clearly in the wrong. I just hope I'm never wrongly convicted of anything because juries cannot be trusted to follow instructions.
