I had my first official tutee this afternoon! She's a sweet, shy little 8th grade girl who is struggling in Algebra. She gets it, but has to be prompted before she can begin a problem. Big test coming up on Thursday so my recommendation to mom was that she come back Wed. afternoon. I dropped my rate to $40/hr (still double what I charged in Heber) because I had received emails from two other parents who never responded after I told them what I charged. I really just needed to get my foot in the door and it only takes one student to do that. Hopefully, I'm on my way because I love to teaching one kid at a time. Who wouldn't?
