I don't remember ever being this busy right before Christmas (although I'm sure memories fail me). But the weird part is that our family has decided not to exchange gifts anymore and Rob will be my only house guest. But since I will be flying to Seattle on Christmas day for David's wedding, I've been preoccupied with getting new clothes for the festivities. This just seems wrong, but it sure is fun. Except for today, of course, when we were dealt some torrential rains for half the day as I was running errands and maneuvering my way through horrendous traffic. I'm also preparing for parties tomorrow and Sunday evening, as well as brunch with my Heights gang on Sunday. I'm just not accustomed to having this much social activity in such a small amount of time. What a terrible problem to have.
But to keep me grounded and remembering the reason for the season, I have Mom and Dad's little Christmas tree and Mom's nativity scene that she bought on her trip to Israel. She and Dad are always with me, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
