Now that the chapter of Mom has closed, I'm anxious to see what happens next in my book of life. Feel free to come along as I start my new journey.

I had a wonderful lunch with Cathy, Sharon, and Kay. We met at Federal Grill and the food was fabulous (as usual), but the company was so much better. I reminded them all about the time when we were in college and met four guys from the Naval Academy at Shakey's Pizza. We innocently ended up with them in their hotel room, from which they called room service to request setups for our drinks. Not smart because shortly thereafter security showed up at the door to ask some questions. Not surprisingly, he wasn't concerned about the guys, but quizzed the girls at length. We all gave fake names and addresses except Sharon, who cannot tell a lie, sheepishly answered that she was Cathy's sister. He generously offered to let us stay as long as we called our dads and they said it was okay if we were there. Terrified of Uncle Tommy, we immediately replied that we'd be heading home. Cathy didn't remember the incident at first, but I recalled all of it because I thought Tommy would kill us (I didn't live here and Dad was in Louisiana... totally unaware). We learned later that Sharon's guy was a bit lecherous, but Kay and I corresponded with ours for a time afterwards. A funny memory!
