I got to my class at the Y a minute or two late, so had to stand on the back row for the first time. There were probably 50 people in the class and it was quite an eye-opening experience. The class is a kind of aerobics class for seniors. I think it's a good workout and enjoy it. I imagine that the bulk of the attendees are in their 50's and 60's, with maybe some in their 70's. There's a little Asian man who attends regularly and has absolutely NO rhythm. But he's so cute to watch because he is always a half a beat off and generally moving in the opposite direction from everyone else. But it doesn't deter him in the least and I actually admire him for his perseverance (although he very well may think that he's right in stride with the class). There is also a woman who always stands in the back and just does her own thing, but she never stops moving. And she yells out on occasion. I'm thinking maybe she had a stroke, but it matters not. She, too, is having a great time. I'm really in awe of both of those people and hope that when the time comes, I too can throw caution to the wind... a lesson in enjoying life.
