It was definitely Simon's day and I'm certain he wishes it had been Glory's day. This morning he went to the groomer for three hours and although he's always well-behaved, I doubt he relishes it the way I would enjoy a day at the spa (don't really know though... I've never had one).
Then this afternoon was his annual checkup which I've been dreading because I knew he had gained more weight and I was afraid the vet would be cross with me. Last time she told me he couldn't gain any more weight and lo and behold... four more pounds!!! With the four he'd gained at the last visit, his increase would be the equivalent of me gaining 60 pounds. Holy moly! Fortunately she wasn't upset because his excess poundage is due to the new food he's on for his skin allergy. And she actually said that too much weight is much easier to fix than a skin allergy. Easy for her to say... I'm the one that will have to look at his sad face when Glory's getting good treats and he's getting green beans or carrots. But we now have a mission and by golly, he's gonna get back to his fightin' weight.
