I talked to Mary Ellen today and was amazed to learn how well she is still doing, although I imagine that Jim's death still hasn't hit her. His burial service will be in Forrest City tomorrow and she told me that many of their Heber friends are making the trip. She really wanted something very small and quiet, but she and Jim had so many good friends that I'm not one bit surprised. But the best news is that on Monday she's going home with her niece and husband to Kansas. They want her to move there and that is my greatest hope, but she also mentioned possibly buying a condo out at Southridge, which also has an assisted living facility as well as a nursing home. That would also be a good choice, but I'm hoping they can talk her into Kansas because she's never been apart from Jim in more than 66 years and she definitely needs to be with family (none of whom are left in Heber). She was so good to Mom and I love her.
