Quite a wild ride last night! The storm started rolling in after midnight and I don't think I've ever been through one so dramatic. The rolling thunder with sonic booms intermittent and the lightning were nonstop and I had to wear my eye mask because the room was so light. However, even after Simon had his Benadryl, he was still a mess and Glory was the only one who got any sleep.
The rain had stopped by morning and when we went out for our walk, the sun was shining and there was no water standing anywhere. Cinco Ranch, the area I live in, is a master planned community less than 15 years old, so the drainage is excellent. I even have a French drain in my backyard that runs out to the street. So I was pretty surprised when I turned on the TV and saw all the damage. The bulk of it is near bayous or at underpasses (of which there are many). School was closed in Katy so it wasn't good everywhere, obviously. I feel so bad for all the thousands of people who're flooded, but all of our family members are fine, thank God.
I went back to the chiropractor this morning and have to admit my pain is almost gone. One more session on Friday and I think I'll be done until it crops up again. Who knew?
