While walking the dogs this morning, I met an interesting Indian (dot, not feather) man. We were at the park and he was walking barefoot around the playground equipment. I commented that I bet it felt good and he proceeded to explain to me what he was doing. He said that the morning ritual is to watch the sun for 15 minutes followed by walking in the sand. But since there is no sand around, he walks in the bark mulch on the ground around the equipment. He was wearing his native dress and I thanked him for telling me about it. I didn't ask what he does when the sun isn't visible, but was happy to learn something about a different culture. I'm acting more like Frank every day.
