I went to see Mission Impossible this afternoon and did a little self-psychoanalysis during the movie. Don't get me wrong... it was very entertaining, but I have such a huge problem with any movie that doesn't depict reality as I know it. There were so many fights and other dangerous scenarios, yet no one displayed a scratch until the very end. When the heroine of the film leapt from a speeding car in a skimpy evening gown and wasn't harmed, my analysis began.
Obviously, I'm a left-brained type of person because I was a math major. I really like a right answer. I was never good at interpreting poetry, literature, or even popular songs. I always believed Puff was just a magic dragon until told otherwise, and even then I think, how does anyone know that? Unfortunately, I also take issue with Bible studies because the words, originally written in a different language, have been interpreted into English and then interpreted again by all different kinds of people. Think about how we even can misinterpret the words in emails and text messages. It's just too easy to get it wrong.
And when presented with choices, I'm totally lost. I like black and white, right and wrong, left or right, etc. How is someone like me supposed to get by in a gray world? It's tough, I tell you.
