I've been searching for some positives in this summer of pain, and I came up with some good ones:
1. I've only had to put on makeup two or three times a week since I fell. Don't get out much these days.
2. The medication I take to help me sleep is actually an anti-depressant, although it is frequently used for insomnia. And for this reason, I'm not really depressed and haven't cried once. I'm pretty sure that without them, I'd be a real mess. As it is, I'm mainly just frustrated.
3. The kindness of strangers when walking with a cane is amazing. People will actually wait for me to hold a door open. I was initially really embarrassed to use it in public, but now I feel kind of special.
4. Glory and Simon have been such good company. These last couple of months would have been seriously boring without them.
I'm sure there are more silver linings, but I have to continue to look for them.
