What a perfect last day for my vacation. Andrea, Brad (her boyfriend), and I went to the Calaveras Big Trees State Park to see the giant sequoias. And they were spectacular! It was number two on my list of things to do, and I wasn't disappointed.  I'll post pics once I get home and can do some editing.

Andrea had researched a place for lunch in Murphys, CA, and she was spot on. Then our waitress mentioned some wineries we might be interested in based on the wine I ordered for lunch (who knew?).  Since no one had a reason to race back home, we decided to try them out.  Perhaps it was the two glasses of wine I had with lunch, or maybe the fact that it was my last day, or that the wine was just that great or even that the guy pouring was friendly and knowledgeable, but I bought a case...  ten bottles for me and one each for Andrea and Brad.

All in all it was a perfect day, and I'm going to be sad to leave.  But I've decided to return to California annually or biannually.  Best trip in many, many years!
